Are you ready to take the next step in your professional journey as a teaching assistant?
This programme is designed to help you gain HLTA status by preparing you for assessment against the national HLTA standards. If you're already demonstrating a high level of capability in your role and you're looking to grow professionally, this course will support you in showcasing your current practice and meeting the standards confidently.
Over two terms, you’ll attend four full face-to-face training days focused on preparing you for HLTA assessment. These sessions will guide you through how to present evidence of your practice effectively and meet the national standards.
You’ll also have access to two optional self-study sessions, giving you the chance to collaborate with fellow candidates and support each other throughout the process.
To join the programme and be assessed for HLTA status, you must:
- Be employed in a school
- Have the full support of your headteacher
- Commit to attending all mandatory sessions
- Hold Level 2 qualifications in English and maths (GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent)
Day One: Monday 16th March 2026
Day Two: Monday 20th April 2026
Day Three: Monday 8th June 2026
Day Four: Monday 6th July 2026
